art
for the people:
a community focused zine
During my time at Mutiny Market, I created a community-focused zine with the goal of giving local artists a platform to share their work and stories. The zine was designed to reflect the raw, unpolished energy of our collective narrative, with a scrapbook-inspired aesthetic that included scanned tape and packaging materials to give it a grungy, “slapped together” feel.
The zine was a celebration of our community, inviting contributors to share their unique voices. We sold out the first run of 200 copies at our launch event, which had over 250 attendees, and the second run of 150 sold out both online and at our markets. The response from the artists was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing pride in having their work published.
Ultimately, my goal was to provide a platform where local creators could see their work in print, fostering a sense of pride and belonging within our community.
